Langtree Park, Totally Wicked and the BrewDog name

The present stadium was completed in October 2011, with Saints preparing it for matches in 2012 under the Langtree Park name. Langtree delivered the fourteen-month construction project, after which the club fitted out kiosks, function rooms and turnstiles in red and white. The redevelopment also included a Tesco Extra store, new public spaces and housing on the former Knowsley Road site, linking the new ground with the departure from its predecessor.

Saints’ first Super League fixture at the new ground ended in a 38–10 victory over Salford in 2012. The club’s retrospective describes a comeback, making the opening league night a successful start after an early deficit.

On 20 October 2025, Saints announced a ten-year agreement with BrewDog that included stadium naming rights. The current name is therefore The BrewDog Stadium; Totally Wicked Stadium is the name found in earlier match reports and visitor guides. The agreement also covered drinks supply from the 2026 season and a refurbishment of the South Stand’s RedV Bar, so the change affected facilities as well as signs outside the ground.

James Roby broke the club appearance record here against Salford on 13 May 2023, playing his 532nd Saints match and passing Kel Coslett’s total of 531. Players from both teams and former Saints formed a guard of honour. After the game his teammates displayed a supporter-funded banner in front of the West Stand.

The stadium rose on land previously occupied by United Glass. Barr Construction erected its steel frame as part of the wider regeneration project. Saints’ April 2011 construction update described plans for a wood-burning biomass boiler, rainwater harvesting and computer monitoring of energy use. The design also included a 3,000-square-foot community facility for sport, health and education projects, managed by the Saints Community Development Foundation with St Helens Council. The development partnership brought together Saints, Langtree, the council and the Northwest Regional Development Agency.

Cladding work continued after the stadium’s first season. Saints’ September 2013 financial statement records installation across the West, North and East stands, with the construction and professional costs treated as additional capital expenditure that year.

The West terrace and the people remembered here

Keiron Cunningham’s bronze statue was moved to the new stadium in October 2011 after spending time on Chalon Way. The council commissioned it following a supporters’ vote: Cunningham received more than 10,000 votes, ahead of Tom van Vollenhoven.

The Saints Community Development Foundation used the area outside Cunningham’s statue for its 2026 Good Friday fanzone. Its report describes rugby activities, a signed-shirt prize and face painting by the Saints Angels before supporters entered a sold-out stadium.

Roby’s final home appearance came on 30 September 2023, when Saints beat Warrington 16–8 in a knockout play-off. It was his 550th match for the club. Players, coaches and staff formed another guard of honour before he left the home field for the last time. His career ended with 551 Saints appearances after the subsequent semi-final in France, so the farewell here and his final career match were separate occasions.

The Marching Inn name draws on the supporters’ song When the Saints Go Marching In. Saints applied it to the refurbished former RedV Bar for 2026. At the same time, the old Marching Inn kiosk on the North Stand concourse became Pacifica Saints.

Australia beat Fiji 34–2 here in the 2013 World Cup group stage. Fiji initially led through Alipate Norilea’s penalty before Josh Papalii scored on his Australian debut. Darius Boyd and Michael Jennings added first-half tries. After the interval, Josh Morris, Daly Cherry-Evans and Luke Lewis also crossed, with Johnathan Thurston supplying five conversions. The match was played in wet conditions. Lewis later dislocated his shoulder after sliding into advertising signage while chasing a kick, ending his tournament. Fiji’s Apisai Koroisau had a potential try rejected by the video referee after he was held up over the line.

St Helens Central, the Prescott bridge and Peasley Cross

St Helens Central is the nearest station named by the club, with an official walking time of ten minutes to the stadium. Saints identifies services linking it with Liverpool Lime Street, Wigan North Western and Preston. For the Manchester–Liverpool railway corridor, the club instead points to Lea Green.

The club’s pedestrian route from town uses the Steve Prescott Bridge over the Linkway north of the stadium. It directs walkers along Shaw Street and Chalon Way East, past the Chamber of Commerce, to reach the bridge.

For drivers, Saints lists M62 junction 7 and M6 junction 24. Its M62 approach follows the A570, named James Roby Way here, while the M6 approach uses the A580 East Lancashire Road. The club identifies Peasley Cross Lane as the closest bus-stop location, directly outside the stadium. The stadium navigation postcode is WA9 3AL; the full venue address is on McManus Drive rather than at the railway station. ;.

Merseytravel’s route 35 timetable includes stops on Peasley Cross Lane at Hunter Street and St Helens Retail Park, together with Parr Street stops.

The council announced a major scheme at Peasley Cross Roundabout in August 2026, with work expected to continue until summer 2027. The junction joins Peasley Cross Lane, Parr Street, Linkway East and Phoenix Brow. Planned changes include Toucan crossings, drainage work, footway improvements and a new bus stop beside the retail park. The council specifically identifies access to the BrewDog Stadium as one reason for improving this junction.

Named kiosks and the Marching Inn

Saints’ published food guide names Cottom’s as its pie and sausage-roll supplier, listing steak, hotpot and Balti pies for the 2025 season opener. It also records Rollover hotdogs, burgers and vegetarian or vegan options. The guide names the Karalius Bar kiosk in the south-east area as a pizza outlet.

Pacifica Saints is the centre kiosk on the Wingman North Stand concourse, between Aussie Saints and Kiwi Saints. The 2026 renaming honours players from, or with heritage in, Pacific nations including Tonga, Samoa, Fiji, Papua New Guinea and the Cook Islands. The announcement names Kevin Naiqama, Konrad Hurrell, Apollo Perelini and Kevin Iro among the players represented by that theme, giving the concourse names a clear connection to Saints history.

The Marching Inn relaunched for the February 2026 home opener after a complete refurbishment with BrewDog. Its opening-night programme included DJ Earl Raff and appearances by Matty Lees and Noah Stephens. The club said the bar would close during the game and reopen afterwards.

Saints replaced the stadium’s access-control readers ahead of the 2026 season, after testing the equipment at the south-east entrance during the final two home fixtures of 2025. The club supports mobile-wallet tickets and printable tickets that scan at the turnstiles. Its explanation says the booking email contains the wallet function and that the lead booker scans the party through when several tickets sit on one booking.

The 2026 Bradford match guidance retained an A5 limit for personal bags, with discretionary exceptions for baby essentials and medical items. It identified a bag-drop facility at the south-east corner and allowed Saints Superstore paper bags subject to checks.

Our pick (opinion): We would look for a Cottom’s hotpot pie as a locally named concourse choice, then use the kiosk names to explore the Saints connections around the stands.

West terrace, Wingman North and South family blocks

Saints directs home supporters who want to stand behind the posts to the West Stand. For seated touchline positions around halfway, its recommendations are the Gold and Silver areas in the North and South stands. The club identifies the South Gold section as its premium seated choice.

The club gives the stadium capacity as 18,000 and describes it as a purpose-built rugby league venue opened for the 2012 season. Its indoor facilities range from meeting rooms to large event suites, accommodating functions of very different sizes.

The family sections identified by Saints are blocks SK and SA. Its accessible viewing options include platforms in the West and North stands, a south-east platform and pitchside positions along the North and South sides. The ticket office number given alongside that guidance is 01744 455052.

The stadium ticket office, main reception and Saints Superstore are grouped together in the South Stand. The club’s matchday guide places merchandise, ticket collection enquiries and the reception function on that side of the venue. It also records that stadium turnstiles and kiosks have operated without cash since 2021, while the shop and ticket office have accepted cash separately.

Our advice (opinion): For a home-supporter standing visit, we would choose the West Stand; for a seated view around halfway, we would compare North and South Gold or Silver blocks.

Parking ballot, commentary and the changing room

Accessible parking is now allocated through an online ballot, replacing the earlier telephone-booking process. Saints directs applicants to their ticketing account, then Match & Event Tickets, and the entry titled Accessible Car Park for the relevant fixture. Applications are submitted using Apply for Tickets. The club gives 01744 455052 for account-access difficulties, so the current process is materially different from older advice to call on the Friday before a match.

The Saints Foundation provides live audio commentary for spectators with visual impairments through its Commentary for the Blind programme. Supporters meet the commentary team before kick-off and collect an audio device to take into the stand. The programme page identifies Mike Kennedy and Steve Manning among the team and credits Bespoke Funding Solutions for providing equipment.

Saints announced the opening of an accessible changing room at the stadium in April 2018, developed with Community Integrated Care. The announcement welcomed public use of the facility, giving the ground an access provision beyond its match seating.

Town-centre food, a hotel and Saints heritage

The Glass House is at 5 Market Street, St Helens, WA10 1NE. Wetherspoon lists step-free access, television screens and a licensed outside area. Its name reflects the town’s long association with glassmaking, and the operator places the World of Glass visitor centre only a few metres away. This makes it a named town-centre pub with a verifiable address, separate from the Marching Inn and the kiosks inside Saints’ ground.

St Helens Hotel publishes its address as Linkway West, St Helens, WA10 1NG. Its own site lists rooms, a restaurant and bar, and leisure facilities, with the 92 Restaurant named in its dining section. The hotel is managed by Estee Management and can be contacted on 01744 453444.

The Saints Community Development Foundation has run Saints Stadium Experience tours, with its 2025 programme following tours introduced in 2024. The advertised format combines a look around the stadium, club history and mini-games. The Foundation directs visitors to its TicketTailor listings for later dates.

Saints and the Community Development Foundation work together on the club’s heritage, linking to the Saints Heritage website and recording the role of the Past Players Association. A player receives a heritage number when making a first-team debut. The Foundation also publishes interviews connected with its Qualitech Reminisce Café.

The current name and the teams using the ground

Liverpool FC Women moved their principal home fixtures to St Helens for the 2024–25 season. The club’s announcement described a new high-performance pitch and upgraded player facilities as part of the move. Liverpool calls the venue St Helens Stadium in its own match information.

Does every Liverpool Women home match take place here? Liverpool’s 2026–27 ticket information includes home games at both St Helens and Anfield.

Is BrewDog Stadium a new Saints ground? It is a new commercial name for the established home, announced in October 2025, rather than another relocation. The ten-year agreement combines naming rights, a principal partnership and drinks rights.
